- I teach Psychiatry and Thanatology at the Universidad de Monterrey School of Medicine and teach in the psychiatry residency programmes at IMSS-UDEM and the UANL University Hospital.
I studied Medicine at the Universidad de Monterrey and completed my psychiatry residency at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, at the “Dr. José Eleuterio González” University Hospital.
During my training I spent time at the Centre Hospitalier Sainte-Anne in Paris, where I saw first-hand a model of care that supports people outside the hospital: day hospitals, crisis centres, therapeutic apartments and foster families. That experience changed the way I understand psychiatry.
Back in Monterrey I founded and coordinate the Therapeutic Accompaniment Centre (Day Hospital) at the University Hospital, a model now being replicated in other Mexican states. I later completed the Inter-University Diploma in Community Mental Health at the Université de Lille and Université Paris 13.
In private practice I aim for the same thing: a space where you feel heard, understand what is happening to you and take an active part in decisions about your treatment.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Taking the first step can be hard. Send me a message and I’ll gladly answer your questions about consultations.
